The phone consists of precision instruments. Please avoid liquid, sand, or dust etc., into the phone. I am happy to report that the Magic5 Lite is a gorgeous handset in both appearance and hand feel. Don't forget, this is the budget smartphone in the Magic5 Series (there'll be a Pro and, most likely, an Ultimate, going from 2022's Magic4 Series). As a result, it will differ in aesthetics from the flagship versions of the handset.

While Snapdragon 695 can handle everyday usage well, it’s designed for light tasks like messaging and browsing the web, and this becomes noticeable with more demanding tasks like 3D gaming. It matches the chipset used in the similarly-priced Poco X5 and OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite, and is slightly less powerful than the MediaTek Dimensity 930 found in the Moto G73 5G. While magic would be the logical source of power, the 5 Lite actually runs on an octa-core 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chipset. This is a solid, if unremarkable, processor that we’ve seen recently in devices such as the Motorola Edge 30 Neo and Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G. All three scored similarly in the single-core CPU tests, though the Xiaomi pushed the hardware a little further for a lead of around 8% in the Geekbench 5 multicore test. You can push the stamina even further with the Smart Resolution mode, which is on as standard. With this on, the phone ran for over 32 hours before tapping out, which should easily see you through a second day of moderate use. Even with Smart Resolution off and the refresh rate set to high, the battery lasted for over 24 hours. Whichever way you slice it, this phone has some seriously impressive stamina. Powering the Magic 5 Lite is the Snapdragon 695 chipset coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It’s an octa-core CPU, with an onboard Adreno 619 GPU for graphics. As is the norm for budget smartphones these days, it also supports 5G connectivity. The supporting duo of a 5MP (f/2.2) ultrawide lens and 2MP (f/2.4) macro camera are regular fixtures in this price range. The results can vary wildly from phone to phone, but what we get here is at the better end of things. Video recording is capped at 1080p at 30fps, which isn’t the best, but is understandable at this price. Stabilisation is only electronic, so you may still see the odd camera shake, but otherwise the footage is decent enough. Honor Magic 5 Lite review: Verdict Wi-Fi 5 is supported in the WLAN, and the Magic5 Lite works both stably and with expected speeds within this standard.

At least things feel familiar compared to other Honor smartphones, if you’re coming from a previous device. MagicUI 6.1 is intuitive – easy to get around, features similar navigation, and offers a well-designed UI. The external display supports up to 120Hz screen refresh rate, which may vary in different apps and The Honor Magic 5 Lite is the first phone that I’ve personally tested that uses a 5,100mAh battery, and that extra capacity does not disappoint. In our standard video rundown test, the 5 Lite lasted for an incredible 28 hours and 45 minutes, which comfortably lands it near the very top of our best phone battery life list.

Throw all of these into one budget-friendly device, and you’re left looking at a seriously capable bit of kit. But how does the Honor Magic 5 Lite fare out in the real world? Design & screen Next, we have the LCEHTOGYE case for Honor Magic 5 Lite. The case is a soft TPU Case made of environment-friendly plastic; the ultra-thin design does not give the phone a heavy feeling. It has precise holes in the case, a perfect fit to the phone volume button and wake/sleep function, and all ports, and connections can be accessed without removing the phone case. The raised edges and the special four-corner gasbag design protect your mobile phone from scratches or collisions when accidentally dropped.

While primarily focusing on Asian markets, Honor is a popular Android brand among international users as well. measurement when unfolded does not include the frame of the main display. The hinge is constructed by a Even better was the OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G, with multicore scores roughly 14% ahead of the Honor Magic 5 Lite. While these cheaper models pulling ahead may not paint the 5 Lite in the best light, it’s still a very nippy handset to use. General scrolling is pleasingly fluid, helped along by the 120Hz refresh rate, while running and jumping between multiple apps never resulted in any significant slowdown.

The Magic 5 Lite can crank up to around 800 nits of brightness inside, which is pretty ample for everyday viewing. However, you may find that this budget device begins to struggle once you head outside or into other bright environments. Up top, there’s a hole punch selfie snapper at the very top of the display. With a round-corner design on the display, the diagonal length of the main screen is 7.9 inches, and
