Description

A shoe department salesperson or podiatrist can measure your foot, watch you run, and possibly do a gait analysis to help determine the best shoe for your foot. Consider sizing up With a spacious toe box and wide mid-foot and forefoot, the Echelon is designed to give a comfy ride to wide feed. Plus, it has plenty of room for a full-length orthotic shoe insert. Although I have tried other models that easily accommodate my orthotics (for example, the ASICS Cumulus series), I have never before found a shoe that is designed specifically for people who use aftermarket insoles. I very highly recommend this shoe model to anyone else with this specific need. Secure, snug foothold

Brooks is also a brand revered for its durability, and the Launch 8 shoes are no different. Built with a one-piece mesh upper that promotes breathability, these shoes also utilize midsole cushioning. The combination creates a durable shoe that can outlast everyday training, but it's also lightweight enough to race in. What We Like New Balance tops the list of brands that specialize in wide feet. But sometimes, wide and W-wide shoes are too big for certain feet. And that’s where the Fresh Foam 1080v11 comes in. This running shoe is designed for slightly wider than average feet, giving runners just a bit more room in the toe box, and it’s also available in wide sizes. Arch support is not all you need! Depending on whether you're a heel-, midfoot-, or forefoot-striker when you run, you'll need supportive cushioning in different parts of your shoe. Make sure the shoe you select has support where you need it. It should also have a drop (the difference in height between the heel and toe areas) that you're comfortable with. Drop can impact stability and speed, and over time, high-drop shoes can have ill effects on the Achilles tendon. Shoe LastIf your feet feel cramped or you regularly get blisters, bunions, corns, or calluses — or if your toes or feet feel like they’re falling asleep — your current shoes might be too tight. Each manufacturer has its own description for wide shoes. That’s why it’s best to go to a running shoe store for a proper fitting. Which brand is best for wide feet?

While most shoes designed for flat feet offer significant cushioning and arch support, some don't always provide the level of tread necessary for running on unpredictable terrain. That's where the Salomon X-Mission 3 comes in. When it comes to trail running, stability and connection with the ground beneath you is also important in preventing falls. It doesn't matter how well a shoe fits your arches if it's too narrow it won't be comfortable for walking and running. And while many running shoes do come with wide size options, it's even better to find a pair that doesn't require special sizing to work with your feet. The Saucony's Men's Echelon 8 offers neutral arch support with a wider sole. Its wider toe box encourages a natural gait, and the ample cushioning keeps you comfortable through even the longest runs. The Echelon 8 also has a removable insole, which is great if you'd prefer to use custom orthotic insoles for flat feet in your running shoes. I tested the Saucony Echelon 8 on a series of moderate-paced road runs ranging in distance from 4 to 6 miles. These runs involved some very hilly terrain. Given the season, I also encountered a lot of fallen leaves as well as some wet weather on my runs. The Saucony Echelon 8 fits true to size

Whether your foot is naturally wide or needs extra room to allow for swelling during a long run, finding a good running shoe is key to keeping wide feet happy and healthy. Amphipod Hydraform Handheld Water Bottle: Perfect for long runs when you need hydration in the summer

BUY: Brooks Launch 8 Running Shoes Best Cushioning Running Shoes for Flat Feet - Saucony Endorphin Shift 2 Skratch Recovery, Coffee Flavor:Mental and physical boost post run. Coffee flavor is excellent and goes great straight into a fresh brewed cup Pros: good fit for feet that need slightly more room than standard shoes provide, available in a lot of colors, ultra-cushioned lightweight rideFlat feet are usually painless, but in some cases, they can cause pain even with running and walking. For distance runners, in particular, a cushioned shoe is key to staying pain-free during those long runs. The Saucony Endorphin Shift 2's cushioning is unmatched. A 38-millimeter cushion between your heel and the ground keeps your foot comfortable while you run. Saucony's PWRRUN cushioning is firm and supportive, while still being gentle enough to support sensitive feet. You don't necessarily need a special shoe or gear if you have flat feet. If your feet aren't causing pain with your current activity level, you probably don't need to find a specialty shoe. But if you are having pain, or your feet like your flat feet are causing you to overpronate (which can cause pain over time), you might want to look for a running shoe that's made with fallen arches in mind. Do I need a running shoe with arch support if I have flat feet?

If you’re a trail runner, opt for a shoe designed specifically for that terrain. Similarly, if the pavement is your go-to terrain, look for a shoe built to withstand hard surfaces. Bring your orthotics If you have ever run in a pair of shoes that weren't comfortable, you will understand the importance of comfort. Saucony has a reputation for making insanely comfortable shoes, they are the perfect brand for both flat-footed runners and runners who use orthotics. The quality craftsmanship used on the Echelon 8 gives them that edge you need to go further and for longer periods than your average running shoe. This cushioning stands high at 38 millimeters in the heel and 34 millimeters in the forefoot, which results in a stiffer shoe that keeps your foot elevated off the ground. While the design is ideal for flat feet, it's not the best trail running shoe. Also keep in mind that the extra cushioning adds weight, which is why this shoe is one of the heaviest we've featured at roughly 10 ounces. What We LikeDespite the wide and roomy fit of the Saucony Echelon 8, I found that the shoes still provided a secure fit during my runs. The lacing area allowed for a snug closure, and the padded heel cup helped my feet to stay in place during the gait cycle.
